March 6, 2020 – Haydon’s Project to build enclosures for rabbits for the human society was a challenge both logistically and emotionally but he stepped up and concord this build wi the help of Mr. Bhrett Perdue and the members of his Troop. Haydon is the first scout in 323 that had to contend with safe distancing protocols during a project and he was more than prepared with individual sunscreen hand sanitizer and packaged snacks to avoid any possibility of contamination. The Enclosures then where produced would make any veterinary facility proud. Good job To Haydon and everyone who turned out to participate in the endeavor.
The Superstitions are a place of beauty in the spring and this year was no exception. It had been 3 years since the last outing to this remote location deep in the heart of the Superstitions. On this trip, we had 11 Scouts and 7 adults participate in this 8 mile out and back backpacking trip. Water was abundant close to camp and all had a good time. The AM temperatures dipped into the mid 20º on this trip keeping scouts in their bags a little longer than planned but all made it out close to on time.
Feb 11 2021 – Ian Marcon passed his Eagle Board of Review and is now Troop 323’s newest Eagle Scout.Ian was accompanied to his Virtual Eagle Board of review by his Mother, Father and Scout Master.
2020 has been a year of doing things differently and the bike outing was no exception. This year we had the Group camp for both Friday and Saturday evenings allowing us to start and end from camp. Mr. Brian Kloft did an excellent job of providing a challenging course once again and the scouts ate it up. With over 27.5 miles this was the longest ride by fare. We hit many of the favorite locations along the way including balancing rock. Thanks to the 30+ participants for another memorable bike outing.
